The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was established in the year 2009 following the alliance of the University of Karlsruhe and Karlsruhe Research Center. It is located in Karlsruhe, Baden- Wurttemberg, Germany. It is a public research university and has significant affiliations with CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research), EUA (European Universities Association), and German Universities Excellence Initiative.

The university has many undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral degree programs to offer in 11 faculties of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, humanities and social sciences, economics and management, computer science, electrical engineering and information technology, chemical and process engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, civil engineering, geology, and ecological sciences.

A broad range of work and cross studies are allowed by the university to increase the exchange between different subjects and develop an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach in the students.
