Sabanci University is a private university situated in the city of Istanbul, Turkey. One of Turkey's influential family foundations, Sabanci Vakfi established the university. It was founded in the year 1996. The university runs 3 faculties of the faculty of engineering and natural sciences, faculty of management, and faculty of arts and social sciences. Apart from these faculties, there are 13 undergraduate programs, 30 graduate programs, 13 doctoral programs, and 11 other minor programs.

Various research centers on the campus of the university are Sabanci University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SU- NUM), Istanbul International Center for Energy and Climate (IICEC), and Center for Excellence in Finance (CEF).

It is a very young university whose first students matriculated in the year 1999. In 2014/15, the university had 4643 students enrolled here with a count of 380 faculty members. 6% of the total students were international in their citizenship.

The list of very famed alumni of the Sabanci University includes names of Murat Şeker (Deputy Director General of Turkish Airlines' finance department), Ergi Şener (One of the founding members of Metamorfoz ICT Corp), Sinan Büdeyri (A chef), Ceylan Toplamaoğlu (Founder of Kia Ora Design- leather bags), and Adnan Yildiz (An artist and curator).
