The university that started with around 20 students as the Institute of Natural Sciences is today considered as one of the largest institution of higher education in Israel. A public research institution that came into existence in 1953, Tel Aviv University is situated in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The university enrolls more than 20,000 students today and offers numerous courses. Tel Aviv is organized into 9 faculties comprising over 25 schools and around 100 departments. Some of the faculties include- Entin Faculty for Humanities, Gordon faculty for Social Sciences and Katz Faculty for Arts among others. The university’s teaching staff of over 2,000 faculty members includes world-class scholars in their respective areas.
The university has been popular for producing internationally prominent research in numerous fields like genetics and particle physics. Currently, the university operates more than 100 research centers. It also monitors the biggest supercomputer in Israel and is home to the only astronomical observatory located in the middle-east region.
The university also offers a number of programs focusing on Jewish studies. These programs are focused on the students and teachers from France, Brazil, and the United States among others. Also, the Law Faculty has an agreement with over 30 overseas Universities like- Queens University, Stockholm University, UCLA and Boston University among a lot more.
