Considered as one of the most reputed research universities in the US, the University of California is situated in Berkeley. Established in 1868, it is a subset of the University of California.
Though the campus of Berkeley is spread over more than 12000 acres of land, central campus occupies around 150 acres out of the total. Remaining area has been adorned by Research Units, Space Sciences Laboratory, Botanical Garden and Lawrence Hall of Science among others. California Memorial Stadium of the university used by sports team has always been a major attraction.
Home to more than 25,000 undergraduates and around 11,000 postgraduate students, the university offers 105 Bachelor’s, 90 Master’s and around 100 doctoral programs.
