A University that opened for business purposes in 1880 in Los Angeles is now considered as the oldest research private University in California. Initially, it welcomed around 50 students. Today USC enrolls more than 40,000 students globally including 18,000 undergraduates and more than 20,000 graduate and professional studies students. Also, with a minute acceptance rate of 15%, the university comes under the most ‘selective’ institutions.

The university is regarded as one of the leading fundraising institutions across the globe, consistently ranked among the best 3 universities in the alumni -giving rates and external contributions. Offering more than 90 undergraduate and around 150 professional minors, USC comprises over 20 schools and separate units.

Though the main campus is situated in the heart of Los Angeles, School of Pharmacy & Medicine and Teaching Hospitals are located in a separate campus for Health Science programs. Specialties in these programs include sports medicine, cancer and stem cell among others.
