This British Public University is one of the oldest university in Scotland. Established in 1413, the University of St Andrews is located in the heart of the city, Kingdom of Fife. Interestingly, the university also owns many of the historically influential and modern buildings of the town. This university is the result of the amalgamation of three colleges - St. Leonard, St Mary’s and United College.

The university, commonly referred as St Andrews, have 18 academic schools structured under 4 different faculties. Currently St Andrews has around 8,400 students enrolled, out of which 45% of the students from outside the UK, and 15% of the students are from North America alone. The university has more than 900 courses to offer, under its four verticals, namely – Arts, Medicine, Science, and Divinity.

Apart from having a strong connection with European University for exchange programmes, the University has also established exchange programs with other universities in Asia and Australia. The university, which is spread across the town has a library, student housing, teaching facilities, and other important requirement well placed. It encourages its students to be social, and a point to be noted here is the fact that St Andrews has over 140 societies, which helps student to develop interest in various domains.

When it comes to naming the Alumni of this great university the list can be quite long. James Wilson, John Pringle, and even the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also recognized from this university.
