The university that was born in the late 1800s as a Christian missionary is today considered as one of the leading research institutions in the country. Located in Seoul, Korea, Yonsei University is a member of the ‘SKY’ Universities (A term used for the 3 institutions considered as the most renowned in the country). Affiliations to over 100 research institutions comprising around 35 of its own, the university works on strong research ethics.

Enrolling more than 35,000 students every year including over 25,000 undergraduates and around 11,000 graduates, the university offers numerous programs. Some of the primary schools and colleges of the university include- College of Theology, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, College of Music, College of Law, School of Business and College of Social Sciences among others. Graduate Schools of the University comprise- Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Information, Graduate School of Social Welfare, Graduate School of Engineering and Graduate School of Health and Environment among others.

Spread over 3 different sites in Wonju, international ‘state-of-the-art’ campus Songdo and Sinchon, the university also offers satellite campus known as ‘smart campus’ facility to students. This facility aims to improve the experience of students through diversification of IT Technology and content. The university leverages the concept of Open Campus Experience which aims to provide and manage all the information generated by the University through technology.

The teaching staff of the University includes more than 4,000 faculty members – experts in their respective areas. Through its reputed and research focused courses, the university has produced numerous personalities. The living alumni of over 250,000 represent the university on possibly every sector across the globe. Notable alumni of the university in the political arena include former P.M of South Korea, Han Seung-su.
