When nine men in 1850 gathered to start planning a university- with no land and little amount of money, the idea of Northwestern University came into existence. Northwestern University was established in 1851.
The university that started with 2 faculty members and around 8 students, today enrolls more than 18,000 students every year. Offering more than 120 undergraduate and around 140 postgraduate programs, the university is spread over 245 acres of land in Evanston. In addition to this, it also has campuses in Qatar, Chicago and Doha. Teaching staff comprising more than 3,000 faculties include renowned personalities across the globe.
Northwestern is home to numerous schools and colleges across the campuses. Some of them are- Graduate School, School of professional studies, School of communication, Kellogg School of management, School of Education & Science Policy, Pritzker School of Law among others. Leading research University, Northwestern operates more than 40 research centers and around 100 school-based centers. Interdisciplinary culture in the arena of research spans from nanotechnology and drug discovery to neuroscience.
