The University of Wisconsin-Madison (briefly known as UW-Madison) is a public, land-grant institution which was established in 1848, in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It is the oldest & largest public university in the state.
It has a sprawling campus of 933-acre & the main campus comprises 4 national historic landmarks. It has a total student enrollment of 31,000. UW-Madison comprises of 20 schools & colleges with having more than 5,000 faculties & staff. Its academic program provides 130 undergraduate majors, 140 master’s degree programs & 110 doctoral programs.
The university has a number of achievements in the field of research, for instance- the discovery of vitamins in the 20th century, the discovery of a new human species. It takes great pride in having 33 alumni who are Pulitzer Prize winners & over a dozen Nobel Prize have been awarded to the eminent faculty of UW-Madison.
